The Manteno Girls’ Soccer team has had a very competitive season so far.  They currently have a record of 10-6.  Senior Captain Jordyn Shipp leads the team in goals with 21.  Senior Captain Kailyn Mickulas leads the team in assists with 22.  Freshman goalie, Madi O’Dell has saved 96 shots on goal this season and has had 7 shutouts.

This past weekend the girls traveled to the Tournament of Champions in Burlington, Iowa.  After two very tough losses the tournament was later cancelled due to bad weather.  The girls also played in the PepsiCo Showdown tournament in Schaumburg a few weeks ago.  They finished the tournament with two wins and one loss to Lake Villa High School.  The team also donated cases of children’s books to Chicago Public Schools at the PepsiCo Showdown tournament. Post season will begin next week, and the girls will face Reed Custer High School at Reed Custer in the first round of regionals. The girls are hoping to make a run at state this season, so come out and support!
