FFA Spring Contest

The FFA spring contest contained 3 different sections, Horticulture, Agriculture Mechanics, and Poultry. In Horticulture, members had to go through various tests where they had to Identify, Arrange, Test, and Judge Flowers and other plants. This section had been hosted in Manteno where they had placed 1st and moved on to state. In Agriculture Mechanics, the students had to be tested in welding, woods, electric, surveys, and engines. The poultry competition had also been hosted at Manteno at a different date than Horticulture. They had to judge birds, carcasses, and the inside and outside of eggs. The contest also consisted of identifying cuts of meat and finding processed defects where Manteno had also moved on to state. Horticulture and Poultry state had both taken place at U of I where they had taken home 13th in Horticulture.
