MHS Boys' Basketball Update

This years boys' basketball Turkey Tournament was a success.  The Manteno boys' varsity basketball team took 2nd place out of eight teams. The tournament results for the Panther basketball team was a win vs Beecher with a score of 51 - 47. The leading scorer for the Panthers was Ryan Cooper with 13 pts.  Manteno’ s next opponent was Immaculate Conception where Jordan Campbell scored 22 pts to help the Panthers to a 65 -60 win. With the Panthers 2-0 going into their third game, they had to prepare to play their rival Peotone. Although the Panthers looked good throughout the whole game with Harry Crawford leading the team with 27 pts, in the end Peotone finished on top 63 - 62 after the first overtime. Even with the Panthers having a record of 2-1, they still advanced to the championship game vs Coal City. The championship game did not fall in the favor of the Panthers. Harry Crawford lead the team with 9 pts with the loss to Coal City. Even though the Panthers fell short, they did have one player named to the all tournament team in this year's Turkey Tournament.
