Subjects Taught
Foods & Nutrition, Gourmet Foods, Orientation to Family & Consumer Sciences

I attended Olivet Nazarene University, graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.  I then returned to ONU to earn my Master's Degree in Education and graduated in 2008.

I taught Clothing I, Clothing II, Interior Design, Culinary I, and Culinary II at Homewood-Flossmoor High School for 10 years.  I teach Orientation to Family and Consumer Sciences, Foods and Nutrition, and Gourmet Foods at Manteno High School since 2014.

I am happily married to my husband Joe, we have 2 children, and 2 Boxers.  I love spending time with my family outdoors, playing games, or watching movies. When I am not teaching I continue to sew, cook, and bake on my free time.

I truly love teaching "life skills" such as child development, parenting, sewing, cooking, nutrition, and baking!  These are skills that everyone needs to live an independent and successful life.  Student often ask why did you become a FACS teacher?  My response usually surprises them.  I started my college career as pre-med in hopes to work in the veterinary field.  After my freshman year of college I met with my high school FACS teacher to seek advice.  She encouraged me to look into becoming a FACS teacher since I truly excelled in these areas, she say my true passion, FAMILY.  Thank you Mrs. Todd!
